Their Pricing Is Straight

Registered agent service costs $125 annually, and the same number applies whichever membership tier you hold, with no first-year discount that we could find. That last part sounds like a knock and is not one. No discount up front means no correction later. Set against the teaser-and-jump structure running through much of this industry, a price that stays where it starts is a point in their favor and we will say so plainly.

Two Different Purchases at One Price

Rocket Lawyer sells a legal services platform. Document templates, attorney Q and A, e-signature, contract storage. Registered agent service is one component inside that, not the product itself.

That split decides whether $125 is a good number for you.

If you want the platform, you are buying a bundle and the agent service rides along. Fine deal. Evaluate the platform on its own terms and the agent line is close to incidental.

If you want an agent, you are buying one component of a bundle at bundle prices. Alabama's requirement is narrow. Ala. Code § 10A-1-5.31 wants an address in Alabama, on a street, attended through the working day so that legal papers can be delivered by hand, and it wants your agent to be a resident or a company authorized here. That is the whole job. Nothing in the statute improves because a template library sits next to it.

Priced out over five years, the platform buyer pays $625 and the agent buyer pays $625, but only one of them uses what the money bought. Our five-year figure for the same statutory service is $495.

Worth adding, since it shapes the decision locally: correcting an agent choice in this state costs $100 at the Secretary of State, which is well above what a lot of states collect to record the same change. Buying the narrow thing you actually need at the outset is cheaper than buying the broad thing and unwinding it a year later. That reasoning applies whether or not you land on us.

Buying Only the Statutory Part

$99 a year, renewing at $99 for as long as you keep it. There is no upgrade screen because there is nothing above it to sell you. Court papers get scanned the business day they arrive and go out to you by email, with a copy kept in the portal.
